Culms 115–500 cm high, 4–8-noded; mid-culm internodes glabrous. Leaves: basal sheaths occasionally pigmented at base immediately above node; blade not stiff. Inflorescences green to rarely purple; peduncles glabrous. Glumes rarely pigmented.
Occurs in the SE corner of mainland Australia, from Robertson in N.S.W. S to around Melbourne in Vic.
