Ascending herb to 25 cm high, silvery cottony-villous. Basal leaves oblanceolate, entire; lamina 4–5 cm long, 6–10 mm wide. Raceme to 15 cm long; bracts leaf-like, smaller; peduncles to 5 mm long; bracteoles linear, 2–6 mm long; pedicel 2–3 mm long. Sepals linear-deltoid, 7–8 mm long. Corolla blue, 15–18 mm long, with few short hairs inside, glabrous outside, with enations, auriculate; abaxial lobes 8–9 mm long; wings c. 3 mm wide. Indusium suborbicular, c. 2 mm diam. Ovules c. 40. Fruit and seeds not seen.

Occurs in the Buntine–Lake Moore region, including near Bunjil, W.A.; was known only from the type collection at the time the Flora of Australia Volume 35 Goodenia treatment was published (Good 1992). Since then, further collections have been recognised, see Goodenia perryi in Florabase (accessed 16 December 2024).
